SiberSafe CMS Fully Supports Custom XML DTDs or Schemas

Although there are some existing pre-built XML data models out there that have become well known, some organizations simply cannot use a ‘standard’ data models such as DocBook, S1000D, or even DITA with specializations.

These organizations analyze their data sets and determine the patterns of content that need to be allowed in their data model. They decide how to model their data to encode the information they need. Using tools like XML Spy, they can create their own DTD or XML schema to handle their content to encode it exactly they way they want it encoded.

Custom DTDs and schemas also require the development of style sheets to add the look and feel back to the XML content at publication time. Often these style sheets are XSLT or XLS-FO. SiberSafe accomodates both types of custom-built styling to help you publish.

Author teams encode your content adhering to the rules laid out in the custom-built DTD or XML Schema. Such custom DTDs and schemas impose a particular structure on an XML document, so the custom DTD or schema creates an internal 'standard' for that organization, avoiding delays from incompatible or invalid data.
